Our Mission

First generation students, especially from rural education backgrounds, have a higher likelihood of dropping out of challenging STEM courses. We became motivated to create a solution called Gig ‘Em Guides. Gig ‘Em Guides inspires students to become leaders in the classroom to support their peers to achieve academic success. Listen to the troubles of those in your community, and do your best to give back to them.

Coming from a high school class of just 12 students, the transition to Texas A&M was a huge leap—and my first semester was tough. I quickly realized how many students from smaller or lower-resourced academic communities face the same challenges. That experience inspired Eric and me to co-found Gig 'Em Guides—a platform built by students, for students. Our goal is simple: to make navigating through tough stem college courses a little easier for those like me, who didn't have all the tools from the start. We hope these guides continue to support Aggies for years to come.
